BB of London printed several series of Alderney postcards from the 1930s up until the 1960s.  Some of the views shown on BB cards originally appeared on cards from the 1930s in the "CI" series, whose publisher is unknown.   CI series cards, in turn,  were definitely made from Westness , Heatley, and Bramley photographs.

The majority of Alderney BB cards are numbered from 1 to 48 on the face, however some numbers are reused for different pictures of the same scene, a few numbers were reused for completely different views, and some cards showing the same scene and with the same number appear in sepia and coloured versions.   The backs of the cards also fall into several different categories - presumably these were printed at different times but there is no obvious correlation between the back format and font, the card type and finish, and the serial number.  Other similar series are known for Guernsey and Jersey.

There are several Alderney cards in the "British Photogravure Series" with no serial number: a few of these are known in sepia and coloured formats.  A card from this series showing a Jersey view is known to have been used in 1935.
